More Like Mary

"Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me." But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away form her."
- Luke 10:38-42 -

"Are you a Mary or a Martha?" - I always hesitated in answering this question.
Two months into Vietnam, I'm realizing that I was a more of a Martha than a Mary. It's so easy to get distracted with serving. MUCH serving. Living a life running around, panting, so many times we find ourselves anxious and troubled about many things - "What next? Did I forget something? Gotta do this, gotta do that. What about this? What about that?"
I'm sure there are many reasons why God led me to drop everything and come to Vietnam, but I think I may have found one - to become more like Mary

  1. Definitely agree with you sista.. so easy to become a Martha.
hopefully I too, even if I did not drop everything and leave half way across the world, can become more like Mary even in the busyness.

:) Happy New Year by the way! I think it is January 1st there...
First time we don't do countdown together at GCC.. but you know you're here in my heart! <3

    1. Better make that happen before God brings you half way across the world as well ;)

Happy New Year! :) My first new years in like... 14 years or something away from GCC. I was super sad. Missed GCC by the far most I think.
